Casa Teve is a project located in a mountain climate, using a wooden structure combined with masonry to offer thermal efficiency and adapt to the natural environment. It is a clear example of eco-friendly design that respects both the landscape and the climate conditions.
A two-bedroom house has a fireplace that feeds the living room and a bedroom. The central space ends in a terrace overlooking the central valley, which incorporates a Caribbean-style continuous bench that optimizes the use of space and gives it a relaxed character. It is worth mentioning a clothes drying patio next to the kitchen, semi-closed in wood, which dresses the facade and allows for drying without a mechanical clothes dryer, an appliance with high domestic energy demand.
We consider it an ecological design, given its language with a natural material such as wood, the entry of natural light in the multiplicity of roofs, its healthy air thanks to the opening to cross ventilation for the hot months, and a raised floor slab isolated from the ground that optimizes its performance with respect to the humidity typical of a tropical rainy climate.
In this case, the materials are visible, reducing their maintenance; the structure and the roof have been chosen green, to integrate it into the mountain landscape.
This rental house has been in high demand, since it responds to the biophilic need (love of nature) of people, as well as for its mountain character — private and open to the surrounding biodiversity — with an honest and effective eco-friendly design.
